Aurélien and Pierre, two winegrowers in the Ain region of France, are increasingly feeling the impacts of extreme weather events such as droughts and frosts. To tackle these climate challenges, they have decided to plant 1,510 trees in the middle of their vineyards to improve water cycle management and soil fertility.

This project, located in the region of Normandy, aims to plant hedgerows with the help of farmers, thus completing the existing hedgerow network, typical of this region. Planting 10,000 trees, of which 15 different species, will allow the development of a rich and diversified fauna as well as a source of shelter and food and will also be an important support for the local flora. This project is a continuation of the projects carried out every year since 2020 in the region.

The planting of 22,200 trees will help tackle erosion and improve soil fertility, create wood resources for local communities and provide them with additional income through the harvesting and sale of fruit.
