Description

This project aims to restore the natural resources of the Malagasy coast and to tackle food insecurity through the planting of 66,264 mangrove trees. This project has a strong educational component, as it allows students from surrounding schools to participate in a planting day and to raise awareness of environmental issues throughout the school year. This project is the continuation of an initial project carried since 2021 in the region.

    Reforestation to conserve páramos and water resources in Colombia 2025-2030

    The project aims to boost the community nurseries, made up of 201 families, and reforest the region by introducing the silvopastoral approach to small dairy farmers (planting trees in their meadows) and restoring watersheds.     Meudon forest 2022: planting sessile oaks and various fruit trees to replace diseased chestnut trees, France

    Affected by chestnut ink disease, some forests in Île-de-France (Paris and its region) are rapidly dying. Damage in Meudon forest is significant because this species currently represents 30% of the cover. Also, in certain areas where the trees are diseased or dead, the National Forest Office (Office National des Forêts, ONF) must resort to sanitation cutting. This project, exclusively reserved for RED by SFR clients  aims to restore woodland with more resistant species – namely sessile oak, hornbeam, and Atlas cedar – with the overall goal being to  maintain the forest cover and atmosphere in Meudon.

    Agroforestry and forestry in 10 villages in a valley of the river Zio in Togo, planting wave 2024

    In the River Zio valley, the soil is extremely degraded and not very fertile for subsistence crops. The local population also lacks firewood and timber, collecting them from the forest along the river. The aim of this project is to plant 80,000 trees in 10 villages to provide the locals with food and wood and protect the Zio river gallery forest. This project is the continuation of projects carried out in the region since 2019.
