  Truffle oak grove-ancient wheat variety-market gardening agroforestry system in France, Aude

  Vincent strongly believes in the crucial role of the trees in his agricultural system. He realised the importance of introducing them in order to restore the soil, expand his vegetable and cereal production, diversify and increase his agricultural production. Since planting his first trees in 2018, he wants to continue with an additional 570 new trees to attract an abundance of biodiversity by creating ecological corridors.

  Reforestation in the village of Dzoraglukh, forestry and fruit trees in Armenia

  After Armenia gained its independence, the lack of energy resources forced the population to (over)consume the rich wood resources in the region in order to withstand the harsh winters. Today, the villagers of Dzoraglukh are feeling the consequences and now realise  the crucial importance of restoring the lost forest. The project to plant 20,800 trees over three years seeks to breath life back into areas once covered with oaks.

  Educational project agroforestry, winegrowing, orchard, market gardening in France, Isère

  The parcel of the Bâtie houses the planting project of 948 trees for the Grenoble Saint-Ismier Landscape School. It wishes to promote organic farming in the training of young farmers in order to develop their practices towards agro-ecology. It also aims to set up agro-forestry systems.

  Agroforestry and forestry in a valley of the river Zio in Togo – 4 villages

  In the valley of the river Zio, the soil is extremely degraded and so largely infertile for subsistence crops (taros, yams…). The villagers also lack fuelwood and lumber. Together let’s plant 40,000 fertiliser trees in 4 villages to provide the inhabitants with food and wood, and to protect the gallery forest of the river Zio.

  Enrichment of rice fields in agroforestry in Thailand, Isan

  The Dhamma Rakhsa project aims to help small organic rice producers in the Isan region to diversify their incomes and regenerate the ecosystems on which they depend. In this region, soils and biodiversity are in serious need of enrichment. The project includes planting a community forest and establishing an agroforestry system in the rice fields.
